Whether you’re joining us for the Causeway Coast Amateur or considering a future trip, here are a few answers to common questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Causeway Coastal Tournament Trip FAQs

  • This trip is built around the Causeway Coast Amateur Golf Tournament, which is a men-only event. All golfers must be male and over 18 to compete, per tournament rules.

  • We’re currently planning for up to 16 golfers, but we may expand to a maximum of 24 depending on interest and logistics. This keeps things manageable while still creating an exciting tournament-week vibe with plenty of camaraderie.

  • Not for this trip. Because this tour is built around a structured tournament schedule—and due to shared rooming and luggage space on the bus—all participants should be golfers registered in the event. We’re planning future trips with flexible rooming and non-golfer options!

  • Yes, all players must have a valid handicap to register for the tournament. GHIN or an equivalent system from your home club is required. If you’re unsure whether your handicap qualifies, just reach out and we’ll help walk you through it.

  • The Causeway Coast Amateur is a 72-hole stroke play tournament played across four of Northern Ireland’s most celebrated links courses. Scores are cumulative across the four rounds, and you’ll be competing alongside golfers from around the world.

  • Most of the courses on the tournament circuit are walking-only. Carts (or buggies) are typically only available with a medical certificate and must be arranged well in advance. Motorized trolleys (push carts) are widely available to rent and make it much easier to carry your clubs. Caddies may be available at some courses with prior notice—we’ll provide options closer to the event.

  • This package includes your tournament entry, 7 nights lodging, private group transport, several group meals, a sightseeing day with distillery tour, and on-the-ground hosting. Jillian will be on-site for the full week to ensure everything runs smoothly—from airport transfers to tee times and everything in between.
Paul will also be playing in the tournament as one of the registered golfers. As a Northern Ireland native and lifelong golfer, he’ll be offering insight into the courses, local culture, and everything in between—on and off the fairway. A full list is available on the trip page.

  • Flights are not included. Once we confirm our final group size, we’ll look into securing bulk airfare for those who want to book together. If you prefer to use points or book independently, we’ll let you know the exact flights we're on so you can coordinate arrival and share the airport transfer.

  • All pricing is listed in USD for simplicity. If you're booking from outside the U.S. and need to pay in another currency, just reach out and we’ll do our best to help.

  • The tournament includes a rest day between rounds (exact day will be confirmed by April 2026). On that day, we’ll explore the Causeway Coast, visit the Bushmills Distillery, and offer time to relax or recharge. If you'd like to play another round at a different course—such as a nearby parkland track to mix it up from the links—we can arrange that for an additional fee.

  • Totally fine. While a distillery visit is included in the sightseeing day, it’s about the experience—not the pour. We’re happy to make adjustments or offer alternatives if whiskey tasting isn’t your thing.

  • Yes—registered guests will receive a detailed pre-departure info pack about six weeks before the trip, once final tee times and tournament details are confirmed. It’ll include a suggested packing list, weather guidance, travel tips, and everything you need to feel prepared.
We’ll also set up a private WhatsApp group closer to departure so registered guests can ask questions, coordinate travel, and stay connected during the trip.

General FAQs

  • We keep our groups intentionally small—typically 4 to 12 guests. It’s just the right size for smooth logistics, meaningful connection, and a relaxed vibe on and off the course.

  • Absolutely—for custom or future tours. We’re planning a variety of itineraries, including couples' getaways and blended golf/sightseeing trips. Just reach out to see what’s coming up or ask about a custom version.

  • If you enjoy the game and are excited to play some truly memorable courses, you’ll fit right in. You don’t need to be a pro—just comfortable playing a full 18. Our trips are about the experience, not perfection.

  • Most courses in Ireland are walking-only, especially the traditional links. While a few offer golf carts (buggies), many do not—so all guests should feel comfortable walking 18 holes. That said, motorized push trolleys are widely available for hire and make carrying your clubs much easier.

  • Yes! Whether you want to swap a round for a distillery tour, adjust the pace, or plan a non-golf day, we’re happy to work with you. We build every trip with flexibility in mind.

  • Each tour includes accommodations, green fees , select group meals, private transport, and a few extra surprises. Each trip page has a full breakdown so you know exactly what to expect.

  • No—flights are not included. Because airfare varies based on your departure city, travel dates, and airline preferences, it’s nearly impossible to include a one-size-fits-all flight price in the package. Most guests prefer to book their own using miles or deals they find, but we’re happy to help if you need support. We’ll provide the best arrival/departure windows and airport recommendations—and we can assist with booking if needed.

  • All trip pricing is listed in U.S. dollars (USD). Since most of our guests are based in the U.S., this helps keep things simple and transparent. If you're booking from another country and prefer to pay in your local currency, just reach out and we’ll do our best to assist.

  • Definitely. While golf is the main event, we always include time to slow down and take in the local flavor—whether that’s a coastal cliff walk, a visit to a whiskey distillery, or just a pub chat with locals.

  • Not a problem at all. While whiskey tastings are sometimes included as part of the local experience, we’re happy to tailor the itinerary for non-drinkers or offer an alternative activity.
